How to become A FRIEND of SWANAGE PIER

The aim of this site is to keep all Friends up to date with the latest events and happenings on the Pier.
The website is updated monthly and fills the gaps between the Pierfriends Newsletters which continue to be delivered as usual  during March, July and November.

Coming Up
 

Sunday 22nd August is the date for the ever popular Pier Tombola Day
The local Isle of Purbeck Sub-Aqua Club together with Durlston Marine Watch will be once again be staging the Under The Pier Show.   Plus the Town Band, Frankfurters and attractions.
Arts & Crafts exhibition where paintings and other crafts of the Pier, all done by Pier Friends, .
Unfortunately this event is now cancelled owing to lack of interest.

The Sea Shanty night will now be on land during November. More details to follow shortly

Friday 15th October at 7pm in the Catholic Hall, Rempstone Road, Swanage.
This is the date for another Old Fashioned Beetle Drive. We thought last years to be the last, but by popular request its back again in the Pier Friends diary of events.Come along with your ear plugs and enjoy this daft evening.

The Pier Friends always require volunteers for Gate duty
and to work in the Pier Shop. Contact Kathy on 01929 425806
Even if you can only spare a couple of regular hours a week, it would help.

Purchase a Certificate of your Pier PlaqueThe  certificate shows a close up photograph of your plaque together with a  location photo' of its position on the Pier.

The Story of Swanage Pier by Olive Middleton

This interesting booklet contains 12 pages of text and colour pictures depicting the Story of the Pier from 1895 to the present.

If you are unable to visit the Pier, then this book will provide you with much of the Pier History.
Further interesting information exists in the Pier Exhibition which is free and open every day during the summer and on weekends from November to April.

The Booklet is available from the Pier Shop or by post:
